Senator Mark Kirk Endorses Bob Schillerstrom For President Of Dupage Forest Preserve

Former US Senator Mark Kirk endorsed Bob Schillerstrom for DuPage County Forest Preserve President, Wednesday night, in front of a large group of supporters and friends.
"I enthusiastically endorse and support, my friend Bob Schillerstrom, for DuPage Forest Preserve President. Bob has very capably served the people of DuPage County and has demonstrated his leadership and his integrity in every position he has held. Bob's passion for the preservation of our natural resources and his life-long devotion to conserving our open space and sustaining our planet, is absolutely needed at this critical time. I can think of no better steward of our environment than Bob Schillerstrom," said Senator Mark Kirk.
"I am honored and grateful for the endorsement of Senator Kirk. As our US Senator, and during his time in Congress, Senator Kirk has been a great friend to DuPage County. His support of critical infrastructure projects, including the O'Hare Modernization Program, Western Access and the reform of the Export-Import Bank has improved Illinois' business climate," Schillerstrom stated.
"Senator Kirk and I also share a concern for and devotion to sustaining our environment. His sponsorship of the Great Lakes Act authorized funds to restore wetlands, control invasive species, and regulate dumping of sewage and other industrial byproducts into the Great Lakes. He also was an early advocate for the American Clean Energy and Security Act."

Preservation, conservation and sustainability are the core issues of Schillerstrom's campaign as he seeks to turn the Forest Preserve into the leading advocate for the environment.
Mark Kirk served as Illinois'' US Senator from 2010-2017, and Representative from Illinois' 10th Congressional District from 2001-2010
