Joliet District 86 School Board Members Recognized

Congratulations to Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors Gwendolyn Ulmer and Deborah Ziech for receiving the Distinguished Board Leader award from the Illinois Association of School Boards. The award is given to school board members throughout Illinois in recognition for the time and effort devoted to leadership activities and service to the public education community.

Gwendolyn Ulmer has served on the Joliet District 86 Board of School Inspectors since 2011. She attended Eliza Kelly Elementary, Thompson Elementary, and Washington Junior High before graduating from Joliet Central High School. Deborah Ziech has been a District 86 Board of School Inspector since 2003. She is an alum of Taft Elementary, Hufford Junior High, Joliet West High, and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. In addition, they both serve on the Joliet Grade Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence Board of Directors
