Edward Hosts Share Wings of Hope Angel Garden Blessing

Hanna Jo Hirst (right), 9 years old, DeKalb, hosts one of the butterflies released at the Share Wings of Hope angel garden blessing & butterfly release on June 20 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Joining Hanna Jo is Susan Villa, RN, perinatal bereavement coordinator, Edward-Elmhurst Health.

Nearly 150 people attended and the names of 50 babies were read at the SHARE Wings of Hope Angel Garden Blessing & Butterfly Release on June 20 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. The guest speaker at this year's event was Kevin Madsen, MD, a specialist in maternal-fetal medicine and independent physician on the medical staff of Edward-Elmhurst Health. SHARE, now in its 34th year, is a support group provided by Edward-Elmhurst Health for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.

The Garden opened in 2010 as a place for parents who have lost a baby to remember and celebrate their child's life. SHARE also coordinates

special events to raise awareness, including an annual Walk to Remember.
