Maine South outduels Niles West

CENTRAL SUBURBAN SOUTH

MAINE SOUTH 10 NILES WEST 7

The Hawks (8-8, 3-3) scored five times in the top of the seventh to erase a 7-5 Niles West lead and sweep away the Wolves (10-5, 2-4) in Skokie.

With one out, senior Alex Heinz' RBI single pulled the Hawks within 7-6. Senior Cooper Kotowski gave the Hawks an 8-7 lead when he ripped a two-run double, driving in his third and fourth runs of the game. Senior Timmy O'Brien gave the Hawks some insurance when he drove home two more Hawk runs for a 10-7 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Hawks RHP Leo Cobett mowed down the Wolves for the huge CSL South win.

The Wolves were led by Sam Holbrook who had two singles and two RBI, while Brian Som, had a pair of doubles and two RBI. Alex Cherian chipped in with two singles and a double for Niles West.

NONCONFERENCE

LISLE 17 DEPAUL 4

Along the banks of the beautiful DuPage River, the Lions (2-7) destroyed their guests from Chicago behind junior Ethan Malavia, who had two singles, a double and drove home three Lion runs. Nick Jachim continued his hot hitting with a double and three RBI, while Cal Payne and Brady Collins each went 2-for-2 with two ribbies.

DOWNERS GROVE NORTH 12 ADDISON TRAIL 7

In another football score that was a baseball game, the Trojans (7-5) outslugged the Blazers behind Luke Wilson, who singled, homered and drove home four Trojan runs. Angus Nemeth had two singles and two RBI, while Elijah Carter continued his hot hitting with a single and a double.

STAGG 10 BOLINGBROOK 2

The Brook (4-5) scored two in the top of the first inning, but Stagg (4-8) scored the next 10 runs of the game.

Junior Martin Boland and senior Bryce Pampuch each singled and drove home a run in the Raiders two-run first inning.

LINCOLN WAY CENTRAL 8 LOCKPORT 4

After the Porters (7-4) scored a run in the top of the first, The hosts from L-W Central (6-2) scored six runs in the bottom of the first to put this one away early. Porters junior Vic Izquierdo hit his third home run of the season, singled twice and had three RBI to lead the Porters.

Connor Christian chipped in with a single, double and drove home a pair of Porter runs.

CENTRAL SUBURBAN NORTH

VERNON HILLS 11 MAINE EAST 1

The Blue Demons (3-7. 2-4) were swept away by the Cougars (2-9, 2-4). Alex Isho led the Demons with a pair of singles.
