Sections of Old Plank Road Trail to close

The Forest Preserve District’s boom mower will be working along the Old Plank Road Trail starting Tuesday, February 11.

Sections of the trail will be closed as the powerful boom mower trims back shrubbery from the sides of the path. The work is expected to take place through Friday, February 14.

The boom mower will travel east from Pfeiffer Road to Harlem Avenue. Multiple crews will be working on the Old Plank Road Trail throughout the project, conducting general trail cleanup of the brush removed by the boom mower. Trail users are urged to use caution and take note of trail closure signs that will be posted in areas where the mower is cutting.
