Plainfield North 70 Wheaton North 66. Two minutes remaining in the first overtime of Saturday's

non-conference battle between the host Tigers and their guests from Wheaton North.

Plainfield North's 6-foot-1 junior, Carlos Conley, went on a personal 5-0 run to erase a 66-65 Falcon lead and give his Tigers a 70-66 lead with two minutes remaining in overtime. Wheaton North (10-11) tied the game at 70.

With seconds remaining in OT, the always reliable Tiger senior, Blake Ellinghaus, was fouled and went to the free-throw line. Ellinghaus converted both free throws, giving the Tigers a thrilling 72-70 overtime win for their sixth victory in a row.

Wheaton North started hitting jumpers as soon as they arrived on Plainfield's North Side on Saturday night, opening up a 30-18 lead at halftime.

The Tigers roared out of their halftime locker room to grab a 45-43 lead after three quarters.

With the visiting Falcons leading 47-46 early in the fourth quarter, Plainfield North's 6-foot-8 Colin O'Rourke took over the game.

O'Rourke buried a three-point bomb to give the Tigers a 49-47 lead. On the next Tiger possession, O'Rourke was fouled attempting another three-point shot. O'Rourke sank all three charity tosses and the Tigers led 52-47.

With one minute remaining in regulation, O'Rourke scored to put the Tigers up 62-59. Wheaton North's Garret Hoernere up tied the game with a three-point dagger with seconds to go in regulation.

Westmont 59 Peotone 43

The Sentinels (10-14) opened up a 14-10 lead over the Blue Devils (1-21) after one quarter in Westmont. The Sentinels increased their lead 29-20 at the half.

A 22-point Sentinel third quarter put this game away extending the Sentinel lead to 51-31 after three quarters.
