Car crashes into Police Station

There was a significant accident this morning where a car crashed into the Niles Police Station. I did want to bring attention to the great response work from Village staff: Village staff have done fantastic work addressing the situation, both from an emergency response standpoint and ensuring the continuation of Village operations. Backups and redundant systems took over as planned for communications and power affected by the downed utility pole. First responders handled traffic affected by the incident in addition to responding to the individual involved in the accident, in addition to Public Works staff specifically working to address physical damage to fencing and a garage door and have been coordinating with ComEd. And I.T. staff have been addressing any affected tech/communications systems as well. Many employees have worked tirelessly to respond to this situation, and they are valuable and appreciated assets to the entire Niles team.
