Between January 9 and 11, Maine South boys basketball played three games in 36 — but not just any three games.

The Hawks faced state-ranked teams Glenbrook South (19-3), Normal Community (15-6) and Chicago Bogan (19-2).

After more than 500 miles on their bus and losses to all three — Glenbrook South 53-40, Normal 47-42 and Bogan 67-42, the Hawks had a 7-9 record on January 11.

The Hawks have not lost since.

On Monday night in Park Ridge, Maine South (14-9) outscored Chicago Sullivan 20-9 in the fourth quarter and rolled to their seventh consecutive win, 55-37.

South was again led by their 6-foot-5 junior Marko Anderson.

All Anderson did on Monday, was score 22 points and haul down 10 rebounds for another double-double. Senior Casey Clark added 11 points, while junior Nik Zelenovic scored 10 points.

Six-foot-7 junior Nik Ostojic chipped in with nine points and grabbed six rebounds for the red-hot Hawks.
