Dons invade Joliet and roll past Hilltoppers to stay atop ESCC

Fresh off of their stunning victory over previously-undefeated Bogan (10-1) on Sunday, the Dons (9-2) made quick work of the host Hilltoppers (3-4, 0-1).

Exploding out to a 27-2 lead after one quarter, the Dons would roll to a 62-37, East Suburban Catholic Conference victory. With the

victory, the Dons remain atop the ESCC standings.

CENTRAL SUBURBAN NORTH

Highland Park 53 Maine East 37

The winless Blue Demons (0-8, 0-3) played tough against the CSL North co-leading Giants (6-2, 3-0) in Park Ridge

CENTRAL SUBURBAN SOUTH

Evanston 51 Maine South 37

The state's top-ranked Wildkits (8-0, 3-0) proved to be too tough for the Hawks (3-4, 1-2) on Friday. Maine South trailed 21-13

at halftime, before Evanston blew open the game, outscoring the Hawks 20-8 in the third quarter.

Marko Anderson led the Hawks with 13 points, while Sean Gallery chipped in with a dozen.

METRO SUBURBAN RED

Timothy Christian 71 Westmont 54

The Sentinels (3-5, 1-3) traveled to Elmhurst and fell behind 24-2 after one quarter to the host Knights (8-1,3-0) and were

beat by the MSC Red leaders from Timothy Christian

SOUTHWEST PRAIRIE EAST

Romeoville 60 Plainfield South 54

With the win, over the Cougars (2-7, 0-5) the Spartans (6-4, 4-1) took over sole possession of second place in the SPC East.

Plainfield East 55 Joliet Central 43

The Bengals (3-7, 2-3) handed the Steelmen (3-8, 1-4), their sixth-consecutive loss, on Friday. This one was close at the half. The host Bengals clung to a 27-26 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Bengals outscored the Steelmen 20-7 to put their second SPC East victory away.

SOUTHWEST PRAIRIE WEST

Plainfield North 63 Yorkville 54

The Tigers (6-3, 4-1) continue to roll in the SPC West with the victory in Plainfield over the Foxes (6-4, 2-2)

Oswego 54 Minooka 45

The Indians (1-8, 0-5), remain without a victory in the SPC West after Friday's defeat to Oswego (8-1, 3-1)

WEST SUBURBAN GOLD

Hinsdale South 51 Downers Grove South 38

The Mustangs (1-7, 1-2) fell to their undefeated arch-rivals from Hinsdale South (8-0, 3-0)

WEST SUBURBAN SILVER

Glenbard West 60 Downers Grove North 49

The Trojans (5-3, 2-1) were knocked out of first-place in the WSC Silver at historic Biester Gymnasium

on the campus of Glenbard West (7-1, 1-1)

NONCONFERENCE

Lockport 49 Lincoln-Way West 21

The Porters traveled to New Lenox and improved to 5-4 on the season with the victory over the 0-8 Warriors.

Niles West 57 Mather 32

The Wolves improve to 4-6 on the season with the win over their CPS guests from Mather (5-6)
