Police Department Partners with Ring App to Improve Neighborhood Safety

The Police Department has joined the free Neighbors app by Ring to provide residents with real-time, local, crime and safety information. The Neighbors network has millions of users nationwide and has been instrumental in catching package thieves, stopping burglaries, and keeping neighborhoods safe.

Neighbors is a free app that anyone can use, even if they do not own a Ring device. Once the app is downloaded, residents can join their neighborhood and use the app to monitor neighborhood activity, share crime and safety-related videos, photos and text-based posts, and receive safety alerts. For more information or to download the app, visit ring.com and click on the Neighbors App.

Like other social media sharing platforms, law enforcement participation on the Neighbors app is not meant to replace 911. If residents see a crime occur they are encouraged to immediately report the incident.

Yard Waste & Leaves

Brush, grass clippings, and leaves should be placed in Kraft yard waste bags or a Waste Management yard waste cart. Branches must be tied in 4 foot bundles weighing 50 pounds or less. Please note: trees, stumps, dirt, stones, pavers, mulch, and sod are not accepted as yard waste.

The last day for yard waste pickup is Monday, November 25 for residents with Monday pickup; Wednesday, November 27 for residents with Wednesday pickup; and Friday, November 29 (due to the holiday) for residents with Thursday pickup. Yard waste collection will resume in April 2020. Leaves are considered yard waste and are not an exception to the final yard waste collection date. They must be packaged in brown Kraft bags or yard waste carts. Uncontained leaves will not be collected. Please do not rake or blow leaves into the street.
