Energy Bill $avings Seminar Set for September 12

The Skokie Telecommunications and Technology (STAT) Commission is hosting an event for residents to learn now to better manage their electricity use and save money on electric bills.

The event is set for Thursday, September 12, 7 p.m. at Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton Street. Attendees will learn about ComEd’s Energy Efficiency Program featuring free home energy assessments, recycling programs, discounts, rebates and more to help residents save money and energy.

Based on income requirements, some residents might qualify for home energy upgrades that include free weatherization improvements. To reserve a seat at this informative seminar, email [email protected] or call the Village Manager’s Office at 847/933-8210.

Notice of Trial Traffic Restriction

In an effort to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic through our community, Village personnel routinely review areas of the Village in order to recommend changes in traffic restrictions where appropriate. Municipal Code Section 5-1-4 authorizes the Police Chief (with approval from the Village Administrator) to make temporary changes to Village traffic regulations for the purpose of determining the appropriateness of permanent changes.

Impacted Area: Eastbound Main, Washington, Monroe, Madison, and Cleveland Streets will be closed to “through truck traffic” from Austin Ave
