Joliet Central High School recently inducted 31 students into their student chapter of the Illinois Music Honors Society. The Illinois Music Honors Society (ILMHS) is for Illinois music students in junior high and/or high school who are dedicated to their school music program and wish to create and participate in extended opportunities for leadership, service, enrichment, and connection. ILMHS is an opportunity for school music students to bond across specialization areas, promote and advocate for music in the school and community, and network with like-minded students across the state.
Students were nominated by their band, choir, or orchestra director based on a high level of musical involvement, strong academic performance, and exemplary character.
Mr. Pyter (Joliet Central music teacher, choir director, ILMHS sponsor) led the induction ceremony and Mr. Seper, Academy Coordinator, was also in attendance to congratulate the students for their achievements.
