Joliet Central Girls stuns SPC East leading Plainfield Central in "The Old Barn"

Joliet West gains share of SPC East lead

Heading into Friday night's Girls Southwest Prairie East conference action, Plainfield Central stood atop the conference with a perfect 3-0 mark.

On Friday night, the first-place Wildcats traveled to Joliet to take on Joliet Central in 'The Old Barn" on the Central campus.

Led by 2018-19 Enterprise All-Area Selection, junior Jalysa Stokes, the Steelwomen (5-3, 2-1) rolled past Plainfield Central 50-39.

The Steelwomen led 16-10 after one quarter and 26-17 at the half. Joliet Central extended their lead to 43-29 at the end of three quarters.

Kachae Donald, led the Wildcats with 15 points. Donald buried three, three-pointers, among her 15 points. Freshman Aaliyah Frazier added 10 points for the Wildcats.

Jasmine Bonsu hauled down 11 rebounds to lead the 'Cats on the boards. Stacey Evans also grabbed eight boards for Plainfield Central


Joliet West 52 Plainfield South 33

The Tigers (7-3, 3-1) moved into the SPC East penthouse with Plainfield Central (6-5, 3-1) with Friday's win at South (3-5, 2-2).
