Joliet West Speech Team Wins Three Tournaments in a Row – Achieves New Record

The Joliet West High School Speech Team has achieved a new record by winning three consecutive tournaments in a row.

On November 19, Joliet West placed 1st at Reavis High School in the "Burbank Cinematic Universe" tournament, which included two tournament champions, Caitlyn Murdock-Schey in Informative Speaking and Daniel Sanchez in Original Comedy.

On December 3, Joliet West placed 1st as a team at Andrew High School in the "D230 T-Bolt Invitational" tournament. The win included two tournament champions, Daniel Sanchez in Original Comedy and Calloway Walsh in Special Occasion Speaking.

The most recent win was December 10 with Joliet West placing 1st out of 23 schools at Oak Lawn Community High School in the "Noel in the O-L" tournament. At the event, Joliet West's Marlie Potocki was named tournament champion in Extemporaneous Speaking.

"This is a TURKEY for Joliet West Speech - and a team first!" said Head Coach Kristin Blake. "I can't wait to see what this talented team does with the rest of our season."
