Joliet West Group Interpretation Places Fifth at IHSA State Finals

Joliet West Group Interpretation finished fifth in state after competing in the IHSA State Finals the weekend of March 15. After competing in the preliminary round, they achieved the great feat of breaking into the final round at State, eventually earning 5th place.

"This is a record-breaking finish for us," said Head Coach Kristin Blake. "Joliet West is 5th in the entire state for their performance of "Hercules.'"

In addition, the following cast members were recognized for an "all cast" performance at State: Braden Brophy (Hercules), Kennedy Dorris (Meg), Jarrin Griggs (Zeus), Daniel Sanchez (Phil), and Julia Slowakiewicz (Hades).

Group Interpretation State Placers are Braden Brophy (Hercules/Student Director); Kennedy Dorris (Megara); Jarrin Griggs (Zeus); Lesly Hernandez (Muse); Molly Murdock-Schey (Muse); Karis Posteluk (Pain); Gianna Ronchetti (Panic); Daniel Sanchez (Phil); Julia Slowakiewicz (Hades); Tiffany Trizna (Muse); and Bethany Yanchick (MUSEician). The Group Interpretation Head Coach is Kristin Blake, and the Volunteer Coach is Tony Nardi.


A special thank you to Joseph Piarowski for building the beautiful new Group Interpretation set that played a role in their successful season.
