Joliet Public Schools District 86 Students Invited to Illinois Music Education Association Junior High Music Festival

Congratulations to Hufford Junior High students: Daniel Cruz, Esbayde Gonzalez, and Washington Junior High students: Andelise Carlson and Rocco Jones who were selected to represent Joliet Public Schools District 86 at the Illinois Music Association District 1 Junior Festival taking place on November 5, 2022.

Daniel Cruz plays violin in the Hufford Junior High Orchestra, Esbayde Gonzalez plays alto saxophone in the Hufford Junior High Band, Andelise Carlson plays oboe in the Washington Junior High Band, and Rocco Jones plays the cello in the Washington Junior High Orchestra. In addition, Daniel and Andelise are members of the Joliet Public Schools District 86 All City Band and Esbayde and Andelise are members of the District 86 All City Band. A special thank you to all District 86 music directors for preparing students for concerts and these types of competitions.

Throughout the day, the students will work with guest conductors and peers from other area junior high schools to prepare the festival music. A Festival Concert will be take place at Lincoln-Way Central High School at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
