New Trier preview- The Trevian defense. Like the Hawks defense, New Trier has allowed just three TDs, on the season, allowing just six points per game.

Maine South preview The Hawks were not looking ahead to New Trier on Friday night against Glenbrook South. With the game tied at 7-7 in the second quarter, Hawks senior QB Luke Leongas was injured and left the game.

Enter junior QB Rowan Keefe.

Keefe had completed seven of his 14 passes for 97 yards and a TD, in the Niles West and Glenbrook North wins.

Keefe completed six of his 10 passes for 100 yards and engineered two fourth-quarter scoring drives leading the Hawks to the CSL South victory. Senior RB/WR Mike Sajenko scored from eight yards out and Hawks TE/PK John Sassan concluded the scoring with a 25-yard field goal.

Keefe has now completed 13-of-24 passes for 197 yards and a TD.

Leongas ranks third in area passing with 774 yards and eight TDs. Sajenko ranks fifth in area receiving yardage with 317 yards and five TD receptions. Sassan has eight catches for 164 yards and two touchdown receptions.

Senior RB Joe Dellumo is the Hawks leading rusher with 151 yards and a TD.

The vaunted Hawks defense has allowed three touchdowns and leads the area allowing just 5.8 points per game and is led by linebackers Connor Leyden and Ted Gianaris and DE Pat Hamilton. The secondary, led by senior Justin Marques, has five interceptions.

Redwings preview...Welcome to CCL/ESCC football for the Redwings. After missing three games due to the virus, Benet Academy will host one of the best football teams in the state, regardless of class. St.Rita is currently ranked No. 2 in Class 5A by the Associated Press' Illinois high school football writers. The Mustangs lone loss of the season, was to the AP's Class 8A top-ranked Loyola Academy 7-3.

Joliet Catholic Preview: The Hilltoppers lead the Enterprise Newspapers area in scoring with a 40.3 points-per-game average. The Hill has outscored their four opponents 161-28.

The Hilltoppers all-state junior RB Jordan Anderson has rushed for an area-leading 631 yards with 11 rushing TDs. Anderson has also hauled in two touchdown passes from junior QB Aidan Voss.

Voss ran all over Carmel for 143 yards on 10 carries and two TDs. Voss has rushed for 221 yards and two TDs and has thrown for 417 yards with five touchdown passes and one INT on the season.

Fellow-junior WR Jake Fieldman was on the receiving end on one of Voss' TD tosses against Carmel and now has caught 10 passes for 227 yards and two TDs.

The unofficial Hilltopper spokesman, senior all-state safety Jabril Williams, took a Carmel punt back for a TD and scored from three-yards out.

Senior DE Pat Strocchia aka "The Sack Master" has 4.5 QB sacks this season and counting.

Wolves preview: It has been a tough season for Niles West as the Wolves look to pick up win No. 1 versus the Spartans in Skokie on Friday night. Senior QB Jack Leons has passed for 219 yards and a TD.

Lions preview: Junior RB Cody Campbell and the 22-man Lions roster will take an 80-mile bus ride to La Salle County in search of a victory and a successful 2020-21 Lions football season.

Campbell's 90-yard kickoff return for six ignited the Lions to the victory over previously-undefeated Blue Devils. Campbell's three TDs and two-point conversion vaulted Campbell among the area scoring leaders.

His 207 rushing yards ranks second on the Lions behind junior Gabe Quinones, who leads the Lions with 210 yards rushing and two TDs. Senior Brett Weber chips in with 156 yards and three touchdowns.

Sophomore QB Tyrese Watson has thrown for 102 yards with a touchdown pass to his favorite receiver Josh Farrel (three catches, 71 yards).

The Lions defense is led by senior LB Mike Walker and sophomore DB Dominic Nigro.

Nigro had a pair of interceptions against previously-undefeated Peotone.

Sentinels preview If their HUDL team page is accurate, the Sentinels had a record-setting performance with three pick-6's in the win over Ridgewood. QB Ryan Domin ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns and threw a TD pass to FB Ben Juska.

Juska has rushed for 331 yards on the season and has caught 10 of Domin's passes for 77 yards and two TDs. Juska's 30 points scored is among the area's best in scoring.

Spartans preview- Spartan LBs Seth Moser and Jeremiah Wright-Carter and DB Josh Dennison look to

stop the area's leading passer, Plainfield East senior QB Brett Winiecky, on Friday.

Ball-control would be a Spartans strategy. Running the ball and taking time off the clock with the area's 10th leading runner, junior Jahmari Christian. Christian has rushed for 318 yards and has found the end zone on four occasions. Senior QB Austin Diamantos has thrown for 109 yards and two TDs on the season.

Bengals preview- The Bengals QB, Brett Winiecki, threw for 317 yards and area season-high and four TDs against South to take over the area leadership in passing yardage.

The dual-threat QB has completed 63 of his 92 passing attempts for 1,022 yards and an area-high 10 TD passes with only one INT. Winiecki also leads the Bengals with 291 yards rushing and three rushing touchdowns.

Senior Taven Washington, adds depth to the Bengals ground game, rushing for 253 yards and four TDs.

Winiecki's favorite receiver, senior Jordan Knowles has 22 catches for 420 yards and an area-leading seven TD receptions.

Knowles is just seven yards behind the area pass reception leader, Bolingbrook's Andrew McElroy (27-427-5 TD). Knowles, has scored 56 points on the season, second to Joliet Catholic's Jordan Anderson (78 points)

Junior WR Mike Morgan, is third in area passing reception yardage, with his 22 receptions for 382 yards and two TDs.

Only the top-ranked Hilltoppers of Joliet Catholic (4-0) (161 points, 40,3 ppg), have scored more points than the Brett Weniecki-led Bengals. 35.5 points-per-game for the Bengals.

Cougars preview Super-Soph RB Brian Stanton ran wild against the Bengals for 163 yards and three touchdowns, including a 95-yard kick-off return for six. Stanton added a pair of two-point conversion for his amazing night on Plainfield's East side. Keith Bronson rumbled for 134 yards against East.

First time in Cougar football history-back-to-back 300+ yard games?

The always tough Cougars "D" got roughed up by QB Brett Winiecki and the Bengals powerful offense.

"Winiecki is a stud. A warrior," Cougars head coach Bill Bicker said.

Bronson checks in at fourth in area rushing with his 418 yards and four TDs. The super-soph Stanton checks in at sixth in area rushing with 354 yards and four trips to the end zone.

Tigers preview The Tigers head into this huge SPC East battle on Joliet's West side on fire.

Led by their 5-foot-10, 185 pound junior RB James Zillinger, who ranks seventh in area rushing yards with 336 yards. Zillinger has scored four TDs.

Tigers' junior QB Skyar Crudup has resurrected the Tigers offense, averaging 41 points-per-game in his last two starts. Crudup has thrown for 286 yards and four touchdown passes. Junior WR Karson Cotton has grabbed a pair of Crudup's TD tosses.

Steelmen preview Steelmen sophomore QB Carl Bew has thrown for 158 yards and a pair of TD passes.

Wildcats preview Aaron Larkins went wild at the 'Ville, rushing for 237 yards, two TDs and a two-point conversion. Larkins has now rushed for 521 yards, which trails only Joliet Catholic's Jordan Anderson (631 yards) in area rushing yardage.

'Cat senior QB Chris Leto checks in at fourth in area passing yardage. Leto has thrown for 563 yards and six TDs. Leto has also rushed for 114 yards and has three rushing touchdowns.

Jalen Turley and Luke Johnson are Chris' favorite targets, each hauling in a pair of touchdown passes from Leto.

Tigers preview West Aurora fell victim to the virus and the Tigers replaced the Blackhawks with a trip to New Lenox and a nonconference game with the Lincoln-Way Central Knights. The Knights (2-1) were rude hosts to the Tigers, only allowing a 59-yard punt return for six, from Tigers DB/WR Carlos Conley

The Tigers leading rusher, junior Jarerd Gumila, fell short of his fourth-consecutive 100-yard game, rushing for 86 yards. Gumila is third in area rushing yardage with 473 yards and three TDs.

Tigers QB Adam Smith has thrown for 174 yards and two touchdowns.

Indians preview Kendall County Fox Hunt successful.

Indians sophomore WR Trevor Hudak broke loose for three more TDs, including a 59-yard punt return for six and a 75-yard run in the romp over the previously-undefeated Foxes. Hudak has 13 pass receptions for 186 yards with four TDs.

Indians dual-threat QB Josh Davis has thrown for 515 yards and six touchdowns and run for 171 yards and two TDs. Senior RB Hunter Ryan leads the Indians in rushing with 328 yards with four TDs and has caught nine passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

West Aurora may still be sidelined by the virus Friday? The Indians may be looking for and out-of-conference opponent?

Raiders preview The Raiders are led by their senior QB Vince Meschi who has completed 73 of his 129 passes for 911 yards and seven touchdowns. Senior WR Andrew McElroy has hauled in 27 of Meschi's tosses for 427 yards and five TDs. Freshman Kyon Berry-Johnson has 24 catches for 323 yards and a TD.

Junior RB Jaquon Howard leads the Raiders ground attack with 200 yards rushing.

Michigan-bound LB Ty McLaurin leads the Raiders' defense.

Mustangs preview The Mustangs look for their third consecutive WSC Gold win at home on Friday. South is led by their super-soph QB Ryan Dawson, who has thrown for 512 yards, which ranks sixth in the area and has thrown four TD passes. Dawson's favorite receiver, junior Eli Reed has 13 catches for 357 yards, which ranks fourth in the area with three TD receptions.

Senior RB Rayshon Murff has rushed for a team-leading 218 yards with three TDs to take care of the Mustangs ground attack

Porters preview Monday Night Football in Lockport

Andrew will come off of virus quarantine on Friday, thus the Porters-Thunderbolt game will be played on Monday night in Lockport.

Porter senior QB Riley Pfeiffer has passed for 398 yards and four TDs, while running for 148 yards and three more TDs. Junior RB Andrew LoPresti has rushed for 413 yards and four TDs. LoPresti had the lone TD for the Porters in the L-W East game on a 14-yard pass reception from Pfeiffer.

Cole (6-foot-3, 240) and Casey Silter (6-foot-3, 240) lead the Porters defense into Monday Night Football!
