In a battle of Southwest Suburban Conference divisional leaders the SWSC Red leading Andrew Thunderbolts held off the SWSC Blue leading hosts from Bolingbrook 52-45.

The Thunderbolts (4-1) were led by their 6-foot-4 junior Mike Morawkski.

Morawski took home game-scoring honors with 24 points.

The Raiders were led by their 6-foot-9 sophomore Donaven Younger who scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Andrew led by as much as 11 points in the game, before two Younger free-throws pulled the Raiders even at 38, with 4:41 remaining in the game.

Morawski buried his third shot from beyond the arc, to open up a 43-38 T-Bolt lead with 3:48 left.

Andrew's 6-foot-3 Mike Bobber's (five points) three-pointer would open up a 48-40 T-Bolt lead with 2:28 left.

The never-say-die Raiders rallied behind three free-throws from Kyonte Thomas (five points) and a put-back basket from 6-foot-4 junior Michael Osei-Bonsu (six points, six rebounds).

Andrew 48 Bolingbrook 45 with 1:12 minutes left.

Andrew senior guard Daniel Nikolic (13 points) missed the front end of a 1-1 and the Raiders would throw the ball away.

Andrew missed the front end of another one-and-one and again, the Raiders would turn the ball over with 39.6 seconds left. The Raiders would get no closer and fall 52-45.

The Raiders fall to 5-1 on the season.

With 5:24 remaining in the third quarter, Raider senior Kai Evans (four points) left the game with an injury. No report on the extent of Evans' injury was yet known after the game.

On Tuesday, the Raiders (5-1, 3-0) will host the undefeated Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings (4-0, 3-0) in a battle for SWSC Blue supremacy at 7 p.m.

"Andrew hit their shots and we did not," Bolingbrook coach Rob Brost said. "Andrew is very good and their guards are really tough. We didn't play well last night (Sandburg) and to play a second game in 14 hours, once again we didn't look good. We might have been looking ahead to the big game with H-F on Tuesday. We are very young and losing Kai (Evans) hurt us. We hope to bounce back on Tuesday."
