Conception “Connie” “Coney” Ferreira (nee Dianda), age 85, a resident of Carillon in Plainfield, IL, former longtime resident of Burnham, IL, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at her home. She was born December 20, 1934 in Chicago, IL.

Beloved wife of 52 years to the late David A. Ferreira, whom she married October 20, 1961 and who preceded her in death on January 14, 2014, loving mother of Lupe (John) Villasenor and Irene (Jason) Feltz, both of Plainfield, adored grandmother of Stefanie (Lucas) Tyburczy, Michelle Villasenor, Jacqueline Villasenor and John David Villasenor; Brandon Feltz and David Feltz, cherished great-grandmother of Arieleesa Tyburczy, devoted daughter of the late Filomen and Angela Dianda, dear sister of Juana (the late Mateo) Estrada, Mary Louise (Eusebio) Reyes, the late Guadalupe (the late Peter) Oñate, Genevieve Dianda, Consuelo (the late Damacio) Carrizales, Santos (the late Salvador) Fernandez, Jessie (the late Emily) Dianda and Philomen (Rose) Dianda, sister-in-law of Cecelia (Viviano) Granado, Rose (Manny) Garnica, Lucy Palarski, Jesse (Leto) Espinoza and the late Richard, Alvaro, Joseph and Josephine Ferreira, fond cousin, aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.

Connie grew up on Chicago’s South Side and was a graduate of Bowen High School. A loving and devoted homemaker, Connie also worked as a legal secretary and was employed by Orner, Wasserman & Moore Law Firm and Merrick Chemical Company, both in Chicago.

Connie was a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Chicago and Mother of God Parish in Burnham. She was a proud member of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and the Carillon Bible Study Group. Connie was active with PTA and band activities when her children were in school.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020, 3:00-9:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield. Prayers and final viewing will begin Friday, February 21, 10:30 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield.

Interment: St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
