SPC GIRLS CROSSOVERS REPORT

Joliet Central (17-3, 6-1 East) won for the 14th consecutive time with a 54-44 Southwest Prairie Crossover win over Plainfield North (10-8, 3-4 West) on Tuesday in Plainfield. The Steelwomen held a 20-14 lead at the half.

Painfield North's Katelyn Sparlins' three-point bomb brought the Tigers to within 22-19 with five minutes remaining in the third quarter. North's Natalie Bearbower's (seven points) old-fashioned three-point play at the end of the third quarter pulled the host Tigers to within 31-28. When North's Jaylin Patterson's (seven points) scored to open up the fourth quarter, she pulled the Tigers within 31-30, the Plainfield North gym was rocking.

The Steelwomen opened up a 35-30 lead before Sparlin (eight points) buried a three-pointer to bring the Tigers back within 35-33.

When a team has won 13 consecutive games, they do not rattle. The Steelwomen put the valiant Tigers away with an 8-0 run to open up a 43-33 lead with four minutes remaining and go on to the 54-44 win.

Up next for Laura Brumfiel's red-hot Steelwomen is a Friday night visit from the SPC West-leading West Aurora (13-3, 7-0 West).

Joliet West's John Placher's Lady Tigers (16-3, 6-1) won for the 13th consecutive time, destroying Oswego 51-22 in Oswego Tuesday night. This one was over as the Lady Tigers knocked down their shots as soon they got off the bus in the Oswego High School (10-7, 4-2 West) parking lot. The Tigers stay atop the SPC East with their arch-rivals from Joliet Central (17-3, 6-1).

The Wildcats (9-9, 4-2 East) kept pace with the SPC East leading Steelwomen and Lady Tigers with the huge crossover win in Oswego, led by their senior guard, Kachae Donald.

Donald put on a long-range, three-point shooting display in Oswego Tuesday night. The talented senior guard buried eight bombs from beyond the arc and finished with 38 points to lead the 'Cats past the Wolfpack (6-10, 3-3 East).

The 'Cats jumped out to a 13-10 lead after one quarter. They extended their lead to 30-19 at the half and led 44-33 after three quarters. Wildcat senior Jasmine Bonsu scored six points but cleaned the glass hauling down 16 huge rebounds. Stacey Evans added eight boards, while Tykara Harrison hit double-figures, with 10 points and dished out eight assists.

The Cougars (8-8, 4-3 East) crushed the SPC West Indians (3-14, 0-7 West)

The SPC West leaders from West Aurora (13-3, 7-0 West) defeated the SPC East's Bengals (5-12, 1-6 East) on Tuesday.

Downers Grove North 34 Nazareth 31

The Trojans (15-4) fell behind 9-2 to the Roadrunners in this nonconference battle at North on Tuesday, but rallied to tie the game at 14-14 at the halftime break.

The Roadrunners (11-6) grabbed a 21-19 lead after three quarters before the Trojans fourth-quarter rally led to a come-from behind Trojan victory.

On Friday night, Ellie Gross and her Trojans (15-4, 5-1) travel to Elmhurst, for a battle with the West Suburban Silver-leading York (13-3, 6-0).
