On Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at approximately 1933 hours, the Plainfield Police Department was dispatched to the area of 1351h Street east of Illinois Route 30 for a subject who was hit by a train. Upon arrival, officers observed the train stopped and located a subject near the tracks with major injuries. The Plainfield Fire Protection District and later the Will County Coroner’s Officer responded to assist

Based on the train being stopped on the tracks for the investigation, 135th Street and 127th Street between Rt 30 and Van Dyke Rd was closed for approximately 3 hours.

The roadways opened, and the investigation will not affect the morning commute. This is however an ongoing investigation and anyone with further information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant McQuaid at (815) 267-7209 or Detective Kaminski at (815) 267- 7214.
