Police continue to investigate train vs. pedestrian accident

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019 at approximately 7:33 p.m., the Plainfield Police Department was dispatched to the area of 135th Street east of Illinois Route 30 for a subject who was hit by a train.

Upon arrival, officers observed the train stopped and located a subject near the tracks with major injuries.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District and later the Will County Coroner’s Officer responded to assist

Based on the train being stopped on the tracks for the investigation, 135th Street and 127th Street between Rt 30 and Van Dyke Rd was closed for approximately three hours.
