Andrea Lynn Chasteen, Will County Circuit Clerk, is happy to announce that

three more employees have successfully received their bilingual certificates from the

county. "We now have twenty-one bilingual employees in our office; the most we have

ever had. Twenty of the deputy clerks speak and write in Spanish and one in Polish,"

stated Ms. Chasteen.

"The three new employees, Lizbeth Ramos, Marisol Zavala and Monica Bibian, join

eighteen other employees that work in many areas of the office (Finance, Customer

Service, Traffic, Misdemeanor, Felony) and at multiple facilities in Joliet. Because of

their skill sets, we offer one on one assistance to customers visiting the windows when

paying filing fees or fines, setting court dates, filing documents, requesting copies or

using the phone."

"The Clerk's Office began accepting civil filings electronically through eFileIL in 2017.

Many customers are assisted with this task in our main lobby. Employees guide them

through this process. Now there are a lot of state forms that are available in multiple

languages. Having bilingual employees is essential to local residents so that they

understand and participate in the judicial system," Ms. Chasteen explained.

"We are extremely proud of the diversity in our office, along with the bilingual abilities

shared through the hard working employees," Ms. Chasteen said.
