Veterans who have served our country were honored by a group from St. John Brebeuf

who delivered 335 care packages filled with toiletries to them at Hines VA Hospital

Sunday, Nov. 3.

"We wanted to do something that would be meaningful, both for those in need as well

as for our parishioners," said Parish Council President Ginny Wolff. "Someone

mentioned doing a project for veterans, and our group immediately agreed."

Parish Council member George Miszczyszyn reached out to a contact at the Hines VA

Hospital. Since the hospital is always in need of toiletries for veterans, the Parish

Council compiled a list of the exact items needed and asked parishioners to create care

packages.

"We wish to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all who helped with the Parish Project,"

said Father Michael Meany, SJB pastor. "From families and individuals who took time to

go shopping and fill a bag, to the parish staff who helped get things organized, to our

volunteers who helped deliver the items, every part of our parish took part. The kids

from Religious Education and from the school even sent beautiful notes for the

veterans. We are so grateful for everyone's participation and generosity."
