The Village of Woodridge and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) have jointly determined that there are material quality issues with the deck work that was recently completed. While there are no structural concerns, a regular inspection of the bridge during the course of construction identified cracking in the new surface overlay which will shorten the lifespan of the work. As a result, the concrete will need to be removed and repoured next spring. In the meantime, the bridge is being prepped to reopen in approximately two weeks and the necessary work to finalize the project will occur in the spring of 2020.
