Police and Fire Units Responded to a Vehicle vs. Bicyclist Crash

Park Ridge Police and Fire Units responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash at the intersection of Greenwood and Arthur. The bicyclist is a 15-year-old male who was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle is a 75-year-old male. Greenwood Ave. was shut down for several hours during the investigation and has since been re-opened. The crash remains under investigation at this time. The Park Ridge Police Department is being assisted by the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (STAR), which is a multi-jurisdictional traffic crash reconstruction team.

Green Alley Lottery to be held at October 21 Council Meeting

Thank you to all of the residents who submitted a petition for the Green Alley Project.  A lottery to choose two alleys out of the 18 petitions received will occur at the Council Meeting on October 21st.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M.  The residents of the chosen alleys will be notified of the next steps via mail.

Throughout the Forest Preserves of Cook County, visitors will notice signs of the season changing. Soon the green forest canopy will transition to golds, reds and oranges, as we start another autumn—a wonderful time to enjoy cooler weather and beautiful scenery in the Forest Preserves.
