Plainfield Harvest 5K Run/Walk this Sunday

Due to construction around the Village Green, this year's event will have a new route and location

The Plainfield Harvest 5K run/walk is scheduled for Sunday, September 29th, 2019. Due to construction around the Village Green, this year's event will have a new route and location. The Harvest 5K Run will begin and end at the Avery YMCA. The "KIDZ MILER" mile run starts at 8:30 a.m. The 5K run/walk will start at 9:00 a.m.

The KIDZ MILER will start near Ira Jones Middle School, run around the school property and then travel East on Ottawa Street. Just past Ingersoll Street, the kids will turn around and return to the start finish line to complete the route.

The 5K RUN will start at the same point near the intersection of Wallin Drive and Ottawa Street.

Runners will go around Ira Jones School and complete the loop back to Ottawa Street. They will turn eastbound on Ottawa Street and then south on Van Dyke Road. Near the dead end of Van Dyke, runners will turn around and head back north to enter the bike path of Settler's Park near Dan Patch Drive. Participants will exit the park near the Plainfield Village Hall and go west on Village Center Drive. Runners will turn south on Van Dyke and then westbound on Ottawa Street to return to Ira Jones School and the start/finish line.


The 5K run/walk should end approximately 11:00 a.m. and all roads will open immediately thereafter.

Residents and guests are encouraged to enter/exit Wallin Woods by using lllini Drive and Indian Boundary Line Road during this event. Any questions regarding road closures or the Harvest 5K may be directed to Commander Ken Ruggles, Plainfield Police Department, at 815-267-7211.
