Dr. Mary Maloney, Principal of St. John Brebeuf School, and Jake the Jaguar, SJB Mascot, welcome students to the first day of school.

"The 2019-2020 school year will be an absolute memorable one for St. John Brebeuf School," said Dr. Mary Maloney, Principal. "Jack the Jaguar and our Student Council officers helped us kick off the year in true Jaguar fashion," she said. School began Tuesday, Aug. 20.

According to Dr. Maloney, SJB has configured the school into three teams-the Early Childhood/Primary Team (Preschool–2nd Grade); the Intermediate Team (3rd–5th Grade); and the Middle School Team (6th–8th Grade). "This new configuration will increase rigor and raise expectations for our very intelligent students, who routinely score above the national average on standardized tests," she said.

St. John Brebeuf School continues to build connections to the community and looks forward to the first annual Oktoberfest Carnival and Alumni Weekend on Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22. Open to the community, SJB families, parishioners, and alumni, the event will feature carnival rides, school tours, music, and lots of food and drink. "We can't wait to see all of our alumni celebrating what it means to be an SJB alum with our current school families," said Dr. Maloney.
